I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my State Colleague, Nationals Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead, for his service to our community following his announcement today that he will be retiring after the next election.
Steve and I have developed a good strong working relationship while both serving the area at the State and Federal level.
He has been a tireless servant of our community and a very active member of the NSW Parliament representing the interests of our region.
Steve has secured a great deal of funding at the State level for important community and critical infrastructure projects.
The $140-million expansion and redevelopment of the Manning Base Hospital, combined with the $20-million delivered to start the Forster Public Hospital project will continue to deliver improved health outcomes for the people of our region into the future.
These projects, along with multi-million-dollar upgrades to roads, bridges, sporting and community facilities, schools, ambulance, police and fire stations across the Manning-Great Lakes region has made a real difference to our growing community.
Steve has also been working through this term on other important long-term project priorities for our region including the creation of navigable channels in the Manning River at Farquhar Inlet and at Harrington-Manning Point, priority road projects and new bridge-building projects at Forster-Tuncurry, Taree and Wingham.
On behalf of Charlotte and I, and our entire community, I once again say thank you to Steve and his wife Sue on their hard work and contribution to our region and wish them good health and happiness in retirement.
