A brewing company in Tumut will be able to increase production of its award-winning craft beer which will help create jobs and boost business opportunities in the Riverina, thanks to the NSW Nationals in the state government’s Regional Job Creation Fund.
NSW Nationals Duty MLC for Wagga Wagga Wes Fang said a $140,000 grant will enable Tumut River Brewing Co to upgrade its commercial facilities, increase production by 70 per cent, and will create seven full-time local jobs.
Mr Fang said the funding will allow the Riverina-based company to move to a new purpose-built commercial craft brewery facility with upgraded equipment including a new canning machine that will enable increased production of quality craft beer.
“The new canning system will boost the brewery’s production from 22,000 litres to 37,500 litres of beer a month, increasing supply to restaurant, retail and wholesale customers,” Mr Fang said.
“This project also means Tumut River Brewing Co. can achieve a better level of quality control across the entire production process, enabling the testing of each batch of beer, and ensuring their small runs of craft beer are always fresh and on palate.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said the $100 million Regional Job Creation Fund aims to create 5000 new direct jobs in regional NSW by providing incentives to expand and keep operations in regional areas.
“Regional NSW is the engine room of the state and providing support to companies like Tumut River Brewing Co to expand their operations helps to stimulate regional economies, boost livelihoods and provide local employment,” Mr Barilaro said.
“This fund allows regional businesses in driver industries to fast-track their growth plans, expand their operations, and creates a solid base for job creation now and into the future.
“Setting businesses up for success helps the local community grow, as new jobs mean more people earning a wage and spending their pay packets in local stores, cafes, restaurants and on local services.”
The Regional Job Creation Fund supports eligible businesses with grants to purchase new equipment, expand facilities, create new iconic tourist experiences and visitor attractions or relocate businesses to regional NSW.
